Rivulobirin E is a coumarin-related natural product found in the rhizome of Heracleum sphondylium. It has been shown that it forms dimers and its chemical structure has been examined. Rivulobirin E has also been shown to have antiviral properties and can inhibit the growth of herpes viruses, such as herpes simplex and varicella zoster virus.
